Our Memory Bottles

Last week we read a book together called Memory Bottles, written by Beth Shoshan. A story about a little boy whose curiosity leads him to ask an old man what is in his little wooden shed. The old man opens the door for the little boy, revealing numerous beautiful, colourful bottles, all of different shapes and sizes. The old man shows the little boy how he can take the top off each bottle and one very special memory will come rushing back to him.
We have used this book as an inspiration for our own art. We think our memory bottles look stunning on our 'shelf' in our classroom! What do you think?

Soon we are going to begin filling our bottles with our own special memories. Watch this space... Mrs Stephen has a trick up her sleeve that she is hoping to pull out very soon!

Cooling off in the Pool!

I think everyone in Room 3 is thankful that we are learning to swim at the moment. We have been swimming between 2 and 3 each day, and it has been a perfect way to finish off the hot days at school!

Please note though that from this Monday (11 Feb), we wi be swimming everyday between 11am and 12. If you would like to come and see your children swimming you are most welcome.. We would love to see you there!

Phoenix is just lovin it! (My favourite pic!)

Room 3's Statistics!

Over the last few days we have been learning about Statistics in maths time. We have investigated when we have our birthdays, what colour our eyes are, what pets we have and (our favourite!) what chocolate we like best!
We learnt how to put these into graphs by drawing little pictures and creating Pictagraphs. These helped us see how we are similar and different to others in our class. We could then make statements about the information we gathered.
These graphs are displayed on our classroom wall, so feel free to pop in and check them out!

No one in Room 3 has a birthday in October!

We have one very special member of our class who has one green eye and one brown eye!

Only one member of our class has a pet sheep!

Lots of children in Room 3 like Crunchie Bars and Dairy Milk chocolate, but no one prefers Pinky Bars or Milky Bars!

Our Photo Art

This week we have been beginning to personalise our classroom.
Check out our photo art! We had our photos taken and then printed out using a special word effect. We then carefully coloured them in using Jovi crayons. On Friday we placed our own unique handprint on them using a paint colour of our choice. We love them! What do you reckon?

We thought getting our hands painted felt squishy, cold, tickly and funny!!
